I haven’t seen that many street style shots I’ve been that stoked on lately. I keep seeing the same boots, the same sunglasses, the same outfits and I just get bored. To me fashion is doing your own thing (I’m no trend follower) and I can’t understand why everyone wants to look like everyone else. For example, I’ve noticed a lot of girls buying these studded leather boots from Victoria’s Secret. My friend May was telling me she was going to get them or a pair of Burberry’s that were worlds cooler. I told her to buy the Burberry and that if she really liked the other pair that she should go buy a cheap pair of leather booties and we can sit there and stud them ourselves. Not only is this a better idea by far (in my opinion the shoes are ugly anyway and definitely not worth $98) but doing the studding yourself will make them actually not look like all the pyramids have just been thrown on all haphazardly AND no one else will have them.

This is the worst attempt at punk I’ve ever seen.
(not really ever but they’re pretty bad)
Anyway I never really see anyone wearing Luella in street shots but Hint posted this broad from Poland and I have to say I really dig her look. It figures she’s an editor at Glamour Poland (which makes me wonder if the mag is worth reading over there?). As far as the bunnies go, I did buy that bunny print dress that Fetherston did for Target but I wore it once with pink tights and a leather jacket and it’s been hanging in the back of my closet ever since. This blouse seems a lot more grown up and therefore she can totally get away with wearing something that could also be worn by a 6 year old.
An Eley Kishimoto top paired with an amazing Luella skirt makes the pieces look made for eachother.

Good idea to DIY studs rather than buy those booties.
THANK YOU.
Those boots have become increasingly unappealing the more I see them. DIY studs would probably lead to a more interesting pattern than those.
WORD:
the ankle boots are shit!!
now i want to see the bunny print dress.
Agreed. So sick of seeing the same knock off shoes on every blogger. Why would you want to look the same as everyone else?? And they look so cheap!
I’m so happy I’m not the only one who thinks those boots are SHITTY!!! I have 2 pairs of ankle boots (gray and black) that I have been staring at for a minute thinking about how I’m going to stud them…
these shoes are horrible. BUT SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO GET ACNE PLATFORM OXFORDS…
I have to agree with you on the booties…my take on it is that I suppose everyone looks up to these bloggers and want to be like them…hence they get something to make them feel like they’re getting a piece of pie. VS should be very very happy I suppose.
HEAR HEAR.there is this weird streetwalking teenage hooker aesthetic that is rolling through BLOGTOWN and i am totally mystified by it. i’m all for self expression but like..really???? a tee shirt and tiny shorts and stripper shoes? why is everyone so psyched on that again, exactly??
also, i saved this pic of the same exact gal (great mindz):

I completely agree. I’m so tired of the platform gladiator sandal, the jean shorts, etc. They’re on girls like Rumi and Karla who are these beautiful, confident girls and then it’s on some(read: a million) sixteen year old posing against her basement wall. It’s gross.
I’m all about waiting for the real deal, so yeh i would totally sit it out for the burberry ones. I guess that street shot is more individual but i really hate the colour pink. It pretty much repulses me especially baby pink.
thank you for the link. i am stoked on that chick cos the allergy shiner under her eyes makes me think she has iron b deficiency like me.
was that a who’s punk what’s the score reference?
i never really got the whole blogger it shoe thing. it’s stupid. buy what you want because you want it, not because it’s popular. bloggers definitely have their own cliquey style. bah.
2tru about those shoes.
Nice to see everyone agrees on how hideous the shoes are. I’m sure the people who own them are nice but they could do so much better. I’ve never considered victorias secret as a place I’d buy shoes from though (the Balenciaga ones were great looking but from what I heard they are uncomfortable as hell which is how I imagine all VS shoes are).
Heather I love Jawbreaker but those are RTX lyrics. I like that you thought that though!
i will admit i wanted those too. i’m kind of glad they sold out before i could get them because they really look kind of tacky now that you pointed it out. i was planning on buying a bag of studs and making up some projects…no point in spending mad money on something i could do myself (like that $100 ksubi shirt)
Yeah, I’m so sick of fashion toast. She was cute at first, but she does the same dumb shit all the time. I’m sick of seeing her twiggy legs in mini-something and stripper shoes. Does she even have a real job?
I must say I don’t read that chick’s blog and this wasn’t based on her but no doubt she does own the shoes.
I studded a pair of wedges a few weeks ago, and after they fell apart I collected the studs and wreaked havoc on a pair boots yesterday. Impeccable post timing. If you’re interested, check out my frakenstein boots:

i adore that skirt….amazing indeed!!!
Hahahahaha. I gave you a ‘I love your blog’ btw… post like this… you deserve it!
There are definitely ‘trends’ that go through blogland… I think everyone is obsessed with that style at the moment it does not help that AW is pushing the look either.
Not everyone can wear it.
BTW, that girl is cute.. what is her blog?
