I really love this quote from Guillaume Salmon, the PR rep for Colette.

What’s hot right now:
In Paris, it’s the girls—not the summer weather—that are hot! Their dresses are almost transparent, which leaves no doubt as to which kind of lingerie they are wearing. The skirts seem to be more like belts and the tops don’t cover anything anymore. I can only imagine that they read too many French tabloids with pictures of pseudo-starlets from L.A. who are almost naked, and so they have a bad source of inspiration for their look. But what can I do except deal with it? It’s starting to be a bit insane and a bit too much. When I am with my friends, we sometimes talk about this situation and how we cannot stand it anymore—even if we like girls! We live in Paris, you know—there is no sea, no beach (except Paris-Plage, but it sucks), so there is no reason to be half-naked.

That’s hilarious. So much for the constantly touted French chic.
Agreed Guillaume Salmon. Since when did it become passe to leave something to the imagination?
I guess is one bad aspect of globalisation everyone reads and sees the same images and then starts to dress the same. The french people are known for not endorsing the celeb culture but is seems like they are starting to..sad.
