if the sun shines so bright or on our way its darkest night
I don’t spend a lot of time looking for them but as I’ve told you how Maya’s Agenda was previously my new found favorite blog, there is already a new one by the name of: The Cherry Blossom Girl. I mean, look what happens when you finish reading dude blogs about motorcycles and actually begin to look at fashion related ones (only talking to myself here). This woman Alix seems all too wonderful and her downright ethereal photographs and, among many of her beautiful possessions (you’ve all seen these, i’m sure), the pink Repetto’s have my heart. Nothing as pretty as a pair of Repetto zizi’s and Parisian Architecture. Also, any girl to successfully pull off a top hat so perfectly has to be amazing, non?
with a little bit of stop-a-shaking
Dear Friends & Residents of Los Angeles…
Tonight my friend Kathy is having her very first solo show. I couldn’t be any more proud for her if I tried because not only is she completely amazing but her paintings are really fucking wonderful. Head out tonight because I guarantee this beats the same bar you end up at every night.
bad luck on your side, mirrored shades and dirty hair, when i look all i see is my own reflection
i don’t know how to say goodbye
maybe i should bury all those memories of you
but i don’t ever want to see them die
sing loud for the sunshine, pray hard for the rain
Hedi Slimane Loves Rolls Royce over at Dazed Digital. He has two of ‘em and has been obsessed with them since he was six so leave it to him to shoot them with such great detail. While I’d still take the Triumph or even a Chevy Nova over one of these, you can’t help but notice how nice he makes them look.
we could be so good together
It’s not news that Liz Thayer rules, besides being into totally rad shit, she’s also quite good with the leather work. Her latest project is something I’m way excited about: A cross shoulder bag that I am absolutely dying for.
Of course it was modeled on a bike cause this thing was made for riding. Whether or not that was Liz’s intention, I sure look for that aspect in a bag when I’m buying one so she sold me instantly.
Anyway, this is yet another “motoshoot” (my term for the best shoots ever) with one sick fuckin bike that Max painted the tank for and is one of the best I’ve seen.
So basically if you’re looking for a phenomenal leather bag, well, just thank me later. Start inundating Liz with those orders now and expect this and other new styles in May.
Also, yeah, the upside down cross? You couldn’t ask for better details.
it seems you see the most of what is really true when you’re stepping into your hearse
I couldn’t really understand why there wasn’t a video for this song anywhere on the world wide web so I figured out how to make my own and even though I sort of fucked it up (you’ll notice the picture disappears) I don’t really give a shit because I’m sure half, if not all of you, aren’t going to play it anyhow. Point is, this song meant the world to me when I was a young teen and only wanted to listen to Richard Hell. I was 100% obsessed, had his poster up on my wall (a xerox’d poster my friend Aaron showed me how to make, taking the image and xeroxing each frame of the picture onto its own page, thus creating one massive poster– something that people do now from some web site that prints it all out for you all pixelated. Yeah, back then we were doing it all at Kinko’s very fucking late at night) along with one of Jerry Nolan & Johnny Thunders (something I remember Andrew posting on his fantastic blog that I noted about the photo), both of which I found in a copy of Please Kill Me I ripped off from some bookstore. Anyway Richard Hell, man, he was my be all end all, the best singer on earth. (Johnny Thunders came in at a close second.)
Anyway, yesterday I looked the song up to find a video and the only thing to come up besides a tiny clip of him singing it in a dark club was the Minutemen (another completely favorite band) covering the song! I couldn’t believe it! All this time, all the owning of every one of their albums and I had never heard this before! Needless to say, if you listened to it, it’s amazing and hearing D.Boon seriously singing this beautiful song was just heartbreaking, the same way the song felt way back when I first bought the LP and played it non-stop for years.
luxurious fabrics and streamlined styles
Really stoked & excited to announce The Lake & Stars ‘Double in Brass’ collection for Urban Outfitters! I couldn’t be any more excited if I tried. They rule so hard and getting their amazing lingerie at a seriously sick price totally rules. Pieces include ‘chiffon bra tops, camisoles, tap shorts, bodysuits, and rompers in shades of grey, pale blue, powder pink, and black.’
The line launches on May 10th at Urbanoutfitters.com. Get stoked.

When I got my new Ksubi tee early last month from the fine folks over at Violent Green (who have been my main source for sick gear in AU for so long) I e-mailed Alison about my new purchase and that maybe she’d be very into it too, knowing her fond affection for menthols and mentioned that maybe this shirt was meant to be in her possession as well. She was stoked to say the least and it seems to have gotten to her super quick as I’ve been spotting Dead Weather photos popping up all with her wearing it. I’ve gotten more questions about this tee than any other of the handfuls of Ksubi shirt I own, though no wonder.
you’ll be my only, my one and only
Two new Rick pieces I am obsessed with: the jacket for myself & the long sleeve for my husband… and myself. Never news that I am obsessed with denim + leather jackets but this one… oh my, how do I even put into words how impeccable this jacket is. Pure perfection. Pulled the trigger on both, FTW.
