riding high on speed

New editorial in the Dazed & Confused May issue from my consistent favorite spread makers, photographer Ben Toms & editor Robbie Spencer. Always sick pleasure from these two.
And yet again another killer shoot that I’d like to be living in, inspired by 1970′s hippies, and communal living.
While hippies aren’t exactly my cup of tea, just pretend they’re hopping on bikes and listening to Zeppelin instead of the Mamas and the Papas and we’re good.
I’d still take the commune over any new NY apartment building, especially now. The clothes aren’t bad either, especially if it means I’ll be wearing Isabel Marant furs while getting loaded all day long with my old man..
(Wait, this is all already true…)
Anyway, even the outtakes from the shoot, gathered from Robbie & Ben’s respective blogs, are seriously beautiful and amazing.
Speaking of Ksubi, I’m so beyond bummed to be missing their 10 year anniversary show at RAFW. When asked if I was coming, I sadly had to say no. Oh, I can only imagine what kind of amazing things will go down…….. can’t wait to hear all about it. NEXT TIME!
Full details below… !
Scanned this in from the Dec ’76 issue of Oui Magazine. Just too good not to share.
Kiki de Montparnasse oversized garter tank / Odyn Vovk vovk tank /Ksubi death is it tank
Three more tanks that are essential for summer.. don’t know how I forgot about these three with the last batch but they really need no explanation as to why they’re great. I have the Kiki non-oversized garter tank and it rules and I pretty much wear the Odyn Vovk tank every single day (in BLACK) since Austin gifted my husband the raddest package ever last year and this was one of the pieces in there. No need to repeat that Ksubi rules, OK?
This post is REALLY overdue but it’s the thought that counts, right? One of my favorite shops of all time, BONA DRAG, and the lovely Heather & Hannah of B.D. were beyond incredibly kind to gift me this PAMELA LOVE talon ring a few months back. I couldn’t believe it when the package arrived even though Heather had told me she wanted to send me something special.
I have honestly not taken it off since it got here. It’s seriously so gnarly and luckily we scored this great little jewelry box for a buck shortly after I received it and we thought what better way to compliment it than toss a little reindeer moss in there with it.. looks pretty sick in my opinion.
Anyhow, not that I haven’t already thanked them a million times over, THANKS SO MUCH Heather & Hannah. I don’t have to tell you all to head over and pick out some rad shit in their shop because I’m totally sure you already are…. and if you’re not, well, you don’t know what you’re missing… !

Majorly proud of him and somewhat surprised it took this long but my pal Scott Campbell’s first solo show in NY opens Thursday at OHWOW, 109 Crosby Street. I have to say the name of the show is one of my favorites of all time and you can bet the work will be mind blowing…

…..obviously !
I’m sure some of you have heard of this by now or at least seen all the flyers up around town, much like the one hanging on my wall for the show. So fucking killer. Congratulations Scott!!!

Obesity & Speed wolfen tank / Pleasure Principle biker sex tank / Bess NYC skull tank
Right now these are my top three tanks for summer… and the only reason I realized this was because I have ‘LOVED‘ them all for the AnOther LOVES site (which you should really be checking out if you’re not already…) !
Fuck yeah, the black matte ‘Black Velvet’ polish from Chanel will be in my hands ASAP since it was just released today. The Chanel ‘Vendetta’ purple polish has been dominating my nails ever since it came out soo long ago but it’ll be taking a break when this arrives in 3-5 days.
As if you didn’t know the whole Ksubi footwear collection was sick as fuck, check out these boots that I’ve currently got it pretty bad for. Again, the details are just rad as hell and I mean, they’re called the RIPPER boots, there’s no way they aren’t totally shredding. Sort out your UK size if need be and order these asap. BTW I don’t think the below photo could have made them look any better.

I’m pretty excited to let you guys know that my friends Max G. Morton and Wes Eisold of Heartworm Press have launched a few shops you can grab all their goodies at. I’m a little behind in getting the word out since they launched them but that’s how bad I am on taking care of everything on my ‘to do list’. Anyhow, there is quite the assortment of rad shit at the Heartworm shop: records, books, zines, Cold Cave gear… and if you’re one of the hundred of people who e-mail me each month asking where you can pick up one of Max’s books, well, you can’t get the old ones ever again but check out the new shop and cross your fingers you score one of the new ones coming out.
In fact, right now, as of 3 days ago, there is a brand new zine from Max up in the shop titled Mentholated Suburbia. There are 100 copies so you’re fucked if you don’t buy one right now (if you’re really stoked, grab the limited menthol colored cover).
These new gold killers are available for a short time as well because there are only 10 of them. Probably all I’ll be using once I finally sell off my Alex Wang bag (more on that later).
Anyhow, as for the second shop, it is a Boyd Rice exclusive and if you’ve ever been a fan of his, you’re gonna be stoked. If you’ve yet to immerse yourself in his world, get on it now.
Lastly, here’s Max and Boyd reading at Strand late last year !
Never been a big fan of blue jeans but I sure do loves this incredibly rad fucked up pair from Ksubi (because they’re also black, duh) now at Ssense.
Harley / Demeulemeester / Westwood
Of all the boots I own, these three are my favorites.
