Overall, this year has been a killer.
It has, for the most part, been made up of nothing but the best most amazing, shredding, incredible times out there. The good greatly outweighs the bad but I’m still not over the worst time, in fact, I’m still really really not over it but it’s a daily thing that is gonna take a lot more time to deal with than the last six months has allowed and that’s OK with me. Every day I wake up to see my husband and my puppy and throw on my favorite record is another good day and I’m looking very forward to what awaits us next year. There is a lot on the horizon that is seemingly all going to happen really fast and I couldn’t be any more stoked about all of it if I tried.

Our lovely friend Diva of Pleasure Principle. I shot this a while back and it’s kind of a favorite photo, from her stance mid-sentence to her whole all white look (which I’m a big fan of). Love love love Adrian & Diva of Pleasure Principle!

Aside from all the other incredibly beautiful pieces in their ss10 collection, one of my most adored is the butt flap jeans. They remind me of being a young crust punk (though I never wore a butt flap, I had several friends that did) except now a softer, grown up version. No big deal.

I’ll share photos of more of the collection a little later in the week but the drug baggie tote bag is also a total win.

Along with all the other designers that LUISAVIAROMA gets early (and there will be more on that later) I was stoked to spot Ksubi on the list. When I clicked over I was hoping to see some new gear but had no idea I’d be viewing pieces from the new footwear collection!! As expected, they’ve done an incredible job. My husband’s favorite pair is the top zippered boot above but I think he’d pull them all off looking hot as hell. I love the aged looks and perfect cuts of the boots. I kinda can’t wait to see these in person! I know Ksubi will release a craze amazing lookbook to go with these boots so until then, check out the details of the boots and go place an order now!!!!

Having searched high & low for stockists of Repetto in the city, not a one had the pony hair zizi’s I’d been on the hunt for. I put the word out to see if anyone had any ideas and the next day my husband and I walked over, stepped inside the shop and I immediately spotted them.

I had been told to size up so I was looking for a 41, which at first they couldn’t find (I had called ahead to check) and when she brought them around, they were too small! Luckily though, they had a 42… which fit like a dream. I looked at my husband who nodded in complete approval after watching me walk the length of the store in them as he handed over the hard plastic card to the SA. After slipping my 4Q Vans back on we were walking out the door, shopping bag in my hand and the biggest smile I could even imagine.

They’re more amazing than I had even thought!

My friends have a new clothing line coming out that if you have kids or are planning to and you also like this blog, you’re gonna be REALLY into. The line is called IZZY WOLF (named after their daughter) and right now the offerings are all the seriously cool things we wear as adults made for kids aged 3 months – 6 years.

The above jacket, the “night wolf” is making me incredibly jealous because not only is it AMAZING but it’s soft lambskin leather. I love the buttons especially.

About eight months after fanning out on them…. I found these Ksubi shorts on ebay and totally scored them this morning! Cannot wait to wear them all summer with Vans and go non-stop shredding all over town.

Also stoked to say I’d been eyeing this hoodie at Oak for a few weeks and we stopped in the other day and Laia helped us pick out the right size (must have tried on s,m,l three or four times each) and which was longer or too long or bigger or smaller hood. He settled on the large cause the hood is so overpowering and he likes that he can kinda hide in there. I’d say it’s cut slim too cause it hangs the same as medium and small, real close to the body. It’s OAK’s own brand too. Way killer for the price (plus I got a rad discount they’d offered me previously). A seriously great buy for xmas if you like hoodies. I totally stole his and have it on right now too!

honey baby baby i’m hard to beat

I’m really excited to tell you guys that on Monday at 1pm,
my phone rang and it was Iggy Pop!

I was set to interview him for the Urban Outfitters blog and was completely ecstatic for the week and a half leading up to it as he’s someone I have been stoked on for more than half my life and I was going to be bro’ing with him over the phone. No big deal.

It could have gone so many different ways I suppose but I’m incredibly delighted to say he was 100% awesome, really fucking funny and all around a down to earth and easy to talk to dude. We talked a lot about music which is really want you want to talk to Iggy about and he named two bands right now that he’s stoked on, No Age (total rippers!) and The Jacuzzi Boys (who I had never heard of but am glad he told me about them because they are totally great). What’s funny is, that was it as far as new bands go. We seemed to agree there wasn’t much out there doing it for either of us right now, which was kind of fuckin cool and kind of super depressing. Sure there are a handful of bands who have been killing it for years that are still around that I’ll never get sick of but when I had to name one band I discovered this year that I was genuinely really into, only ONE came to mind (BRIDEZ)!

Anyway, dream of a lifetime completed and hopefully Lemmy puts out a new book or something soon so I can interview him too. Oh man!!!
