Found both of these yesterday…. the fur is faux and reminded me of Gareth Pugh. It fit great and was crazy cheap. The leather jacket is vintage Harley Davidson and also fit amazing. They both came from the same booth (and right next to each other) of this vintage shop set up by different sellers.. so whoever this person is, she’s got good taste. I’m going back for the leather very soon right now but I’m not sure I’m going to get the fur for myself because I doubt I’ll wear it that often. I have this perfect look in my head right now with the jacket and goddamn this weather/summer because I won’t be able to comfortably wear it until it gets way cooler out.

Sidenote: the leather looks funny in the photo because it’s laying draped over the other jackets, I mean it’s a small but looks oddly huge here. I am really into the pockets and that it doesn’t have the typical moto jacket setup. So good!! If anyone would like the fur jacket, it’s a s/m and I’d be happy to grab it for you.

what’s the borderline between genius or lunatic

I never really talk about skating much here for whatever reason (the same way we had to go and start a whole separate blog, Sex Savages , to talk about bikes because it would just go unnoticed here, which is basically fine with me) but out of all the skate vids I’ve owned over the years, I’d say my most watched is Fourstar’s Super Champion Funzone . I got it when it first came out back in 05/06 and I mean, watching some of the best dudes in the skate world get together for what seemed like the most fun trip ever just made for the most perfect skate video ever. The soundtrack had me seriously jamming out to fucking Phoenix songs because they were associated with this vid and that just made them not so much dancey french pop songs (oddly this is not my usual musical inclination) but like, getting crazy & fun songs. Whatever. The radness of the video is totally conveyed in the video above and even if you’re just remotely into skating, you should pick this one up for sure. You’ll thank me later.

Anyway, it’s sure been a while since we’ve heard much from the Fourstar crew in the way of videos and I was stoked to find this trailer on Crailtap’s twitter a few minutes ago! It’s funny because I was just checking out the new line the other day (the black on black Gang of Fourstar shirt is so good) and they go and put this up today. So watch the site next week for all the Day in the Life videos they’ll be putting up. Sure to be just as amazing as expected!

Current favorites at OAK . They’ve always been one of my favorite shops…. undoubtedly because nearly everything they carry is black.

1. Complex Geometries square hood tee – do I even have to explain why this is so good? No wonder it’s stock was already sold out once and is only back for a short time (because it will be gone just as quickly).

2. Ksubi caviar delinquent jeans – at first I wasn’t sure whether or not I was really really into the new setup of these jeans but upon a second look with my husband, he gave the thumbs up so I know they’re good. Click the link if you’re wondering what I’m talking about. Love these.

3. OAK black pocket racerback tank – because even I layer my racerbacks for summer and I see this one getting tons of wear. The key to winning me over is making your shirts long and this one is perfection.

4. Petar Petrov black blazer – the sheen on this is so amazing. I have been really toying with the idea of finding a great black blazer finally and this one, especially with the sleeves rolled up, seems to fit me wonderfully.

5. Sophomore zip vest – one of my favorite labels. The cut & design are ideal for summer and sleeveless hoodies are really good for layering underneath other jackets (when we can finally starting wearing all our jackets again!!!!), especially when the arms are cut like I like them, super long & tight.

Speaking of Vans… my custom Era’s courtesy of Vans came last week and blew my mind. Much like my Demeulemeester boots, they arrived and were the best shade of purple ever! I’ve been seriously wearing them non-stop since they showed up. Also, like a day later, my friend Nikki at Vans was awesome enough to send me over the new Vans book and I must say it is the coolest book EVER. Snuck two shots for you guys… Lemmy (of course) and a sick Vans cast! The book is officially out June 1st so head out to your local Vans shop or keep checking the online site for it because this is definitely the best new addition to any bookcase I could recommend, filled with tons of awesome photos & tales from their long incredible history.

I’ve mentioned before that I don’t have too many favorite designers but after discovering ODYN VOVK , he made the teeny tiny list. That said, I’m kind of at a loss for words regarding this jacket.

I’ve wanted this style jacket, denim vest + leather sleeves, for basically forever and have pretty much just taken to just wearing a leather jacket under my Septic Death black denim vest and calling it a day.

Then I go and spy this photo on the Acrimony blog showing this jacket off for pre-sale.

Do I have the softest and best cut leather jacket ever? No. Is there a gap in the cut off area between the vest and jacket that annoys the shit out of me? Yes. Do I see this ODYN VOVK jacket as being the answer to all my problems and the most amazing addition to my wardrobe, besides my Demeulemeester boots, ever? YES!!!

Anyway, since I’ve been bro’ing with Austin of O/V for a while now, thanks to Ryan from THECAST for introducing us, I’m hoping to see this & much more in person at the VOVKORIUM in LA very soon.

Not a fan of much new music so when I find something I do like, it’s kind of a big deal. Brooklyn’s VIOLETHOUR linked me from their blog and I checked it out to find Ann quotes, moto photos and a post detailing the release of their first EP… so of course I had to check out their stuff.. and I was pleasantly surprised to find some seriously amazing songs. Just so happens that tonight is the release party for their new record and wouldn’t you know it, the incredible women behind Six Six Sick are hosting. If I could be there I definitely would. Thanks for reassuring me that all is not completely lost, music-wise.

So yeah my Ann Demeulemeester boots are here and they’re basically the best things on earth. I’ve really made every effort to not have to take them off whatsoever but rain + suede don’t mix so there have been one or two days they’ve had to stay sitting on their shelf. This is kind of a sneak preview of them I shot today while we were hanging with our friends CASS (who I write Sex Savages with) & her husband JASON WHISKEY wrenchin on their new bike “BAD MOTHER.”

Matt Irwin is like the best dude ever and sent me an invite to the Pam Hogg pop up shop opening tonight in London but seriously just beyond unfortunately, I was unable to attend! Susie talking about getting herself into a Hogg catsuit on twitter and these shots from the LOVE Mag blog are just killing me!!! Again, I have been such a huge fan of hers for so long and am so happy to see her opening this new shop and that means we will be seeing women on the street (hopefully you Susie!) wearing her signature suits. Cannot wait to spot the first one (although I may have to start reading street style blogs again for this to happen)!
