I meant to post this a while back but it somehow got pushed back. Anyway, I love her to death but there’s just never an excuse for a tote bag to cost $97! Not that I think she’d start making things cheap but when she talks so much about consumption and greed, you’d think it would be reflected in at least a few of the pieces that aren’t clothing. At first I really wanted the dress version of this (which has since gone off-line since I first started writing this post) but up close I realized it wasn’t really for me (not into the batwing style). I think I’ll have to settle for the pin version of this to throw on my vest. Which is however, unfortunately for me, only available in her shops. Additionally, I re-discovered my love for my pirate boots the other night having realized I haven’t worn them since we got married- 7 months ago! Wow.

I don’t buy nearly as many records now as I did growing up but when I used to mailorder from Dischord all the time, one of my Nation of Ulysses or Make-Up albums came with this cardboard safekeeping it during shipping. I always thought it was kind of cool, like here’s Thurston & Kim of Sonic Youth sending over their new album to Ian MacKaye and telling him how great Fugazi’s End Hits record is, which had just come out. I don’t know how I’ve held onto this for so long. So who knows if Ian ever even saw it and it just got passed along in the shipping dept. If anyone can appreciate this, I think Chris will.

When Smith + Butler first opened I remember seeing the shop and being so stoked a place like it existed. They’re still in Brooklyn but have a new pop up shop on the LES inside Moscot & it’s just as rad looking as ever. My dream store would probably look something like this coupled with the Rogan store on Bowery (basically, black and simple with our bike parked inside). My husbands closet already closely resembles the stock of their shops but he could probably find a few things he’s really into in there. Head over now ( 18 Orchard at Delancey St) but don’t forget about their shop in Brooklyn (225 Smith at Butler St) and online shop setup through Refinery 29.

Two pink posts in a row??? Yeah I don’t know what’s happening but this is finally out, in fuckin fuchsia and exclusively at Barney’s. I won’t be trading up my black bag for it but I’m happy to just stare at it for a while.

These pink furs at Dolce & Gabbana were so sickeningly pretty. I actually had this post written & saved from when the show happened a few weeks back but am finally getting around to posting it! Admittedly, I’ve neglected to look at a lot of the collections from just being too busy and it’s weird and I’m sure I’ll still have so many I want to write about. Anyway, I’m totally for the gorilla sleeve situation and have been trying to find some perfect monkey type fur similar to this, to then dye and attach to a black denim vest.

A few people have sent me photos of this coat, Susie Bubble in particular and I think she just knows me so well that she knew I’d love this. Katie Grand of Love Mag pulls it off so marvelously that it really makes me like it even more than I had before.

Picked up the new Interview for a couple reasons but I came across this interview with Erin about her place in Venice Beach and loved it. Fuck, I mean, who doesn’t dream of having a half pipe and treehouse in their backyard for life? Scanned it in and split it up into three pieces so you could see them individually and big.

I’ve written several posts about Golden Goose since starting this thing and this is another, which makes me think they need their own category by now to justify just how much I dig them and how often I plan on talking about them. When I spied this sick fucking plaid shirt this morning at Browns I knew it was another to add to the list of my current wants (there’s just one other item). I somehow got Polyvore to work for me again so I paired it up with what I wear on a daily basis (Wang, Ksubi, Vans). I only own one plaid shirt so this would be a welcome addition, especially having found what I deem to be the most perfect one.

I wrote about this patch last year after I first saw it on her blog and then she helped me hunt down the black and white one that unfortunately was long gone but she was so supremely nice enough to send me the pink and yellow one cause she never used it!!! It’s so amazing + thanks again!!!! Can’t wait to sew this on my vest!

I grew up loving Nick Cave. Maybe it was from the circumstances of having first heard him, from a dude I met only hours before we drank a bottle of Wild Turkey and made out in a fountain together, ending the night at his place listening to the Birthday Party while he made me tapes of it before I had to bail the next morning back in the van. Anyway, first finding out his son Jethro was pursuing a career in the industry had me stoked…. although not nearly as much as Zana of Garbage Dress ! He frequently comes up when we’re talking and when we were both curious about who was going to get the first shot of him and Nick together, I found the photo we thought didn’t exist in the March 09 issue of Mojo.

So THE photo exists and Jethro is all over the fucking place right now and I really couldn’t think of a better model I’d like to see everywhere, not because he’s Nick’s son but because he seriously ACES every runway show and shoot perfectly and I’d rather see him than the typical fucking pretty boys. Anyway, when I came home today to find the new massive issue (!!!!!!!) of Jalouse on my doorstep, I knew Zana would be just as excited as I was over the thickness of the mag, because of the article on Jethro in its pages!

So naturally I scanned it in for her but thought you’d all like to get a look at it too. Enjoy….. Zana!!!

My friend Crystal Moselle directed this incredible video showcasing Bijules latest creations. Every time I see jewelry ads they’re always supremely cheesy and only sort of center around love & marriage so I must point out here that it’s nice to see one with fucking wolf and bunny shadow puppets and rings you’ll actually wanna wear everyday. Bijules has been killing it on the scene for quite some time and if you’re not into her yet you are severely missing out. Speaking of killing it, Crystal is amazing and her last video for The Virgins was unfortunately kinda bailed on, you can read more about the situation over on my other gig Street Carnage and check out the video there too!
