While it is not a site I shop very often, these are my current favorites at Net a Porter ..

1. Proenza Schouler tank dress – this looks so amazing on the mannequin and the double style looks great, anything they do is total perfection

2. Lanvin pink satin sneakers with ribbon laces – I’m a total fiend for satin sneakers (please note my purple satin Vans) and the ribbon laces are incredibly pretty though you’d be hard pressed to see them stay that way though and these would get dirty so quick it’s not even funny (& this sounds silly but how pretty would that shoe box look sitting on a shelf)

3. Miu Miu fuchsia matellase tote – the matellase style has long been a favorite of mine and this color is to die for

4. Rick Owens jersey padded jacket – there isn’t much that is better than the way Owens cuts the sleeves on his jackets and this one in particular looks like thee best coat to wear for winter (at least where I am right now because it doesn’t fall below 75!)

5. Chloe multi strap wedges – there’s nothing I love more than a ton of buckles together and while this is a little gladiator styles, I like it nonetheless and consider it closer to looking like my Westwood pirate boots or the strappy Chanel heels I couldn’t get over for so long, just wish they were a different color

6. Sonia Rykiel wool cape jacket – this is unbelieavly perfect and like most cape coats, doesn’t look like it’s going to swallow you whole and still gives you some shape (hint it’s also on sale right now!)

I’m not really into his clothes at all but I was surprised to say the least to see this latest shirt from Henry Holland of a drawn nude Daphne Guinness! I would absolutely love to hear what she thinks about it and since it is black and white, maybe see her sport it?

So you all know by now how much I dig Sophomore and when I saw this latest lookbook being put together at Chrissie’s office in September I knew everyone was gonna love it. As I carefully looked through the new collection I made mental notes of my favorites, marveled at the impeccable color choices they’ve made for the new pieces and practically drooled over every purple and zippered item on the racks. (Don’t ask why I didn’t take photos at the time because we’ll just have to get into how my husbands camera broke and be all bummed about it.) Anyway, Sophomore lookbooks are notoriously perfect and they are still interviewed about the first one that caught everyone’s eyes with all these good looking kids running around the city having the best time ever, be it flashing cars over the freeway or just simply hanging out with your friends. Sophomore and photographer Cass Bird know exactly how to capture those moments and show off some amazing clothes at the same time. And with that, the Spring ’09 lookbook..

You’ll start seeing the Spring collection in stores by February so mark your calendars and keep an eye on your favorite shops (like Bona Drag , of course) that carry Sophomore. If you’re still wondering where you can buy everything they have a full list of retailers up on the site as well as their own shop .
Keep an eye out here as I’ll be doing another post soon of some detailed shots of the pieces so you can pick your favorites too. I can’t wait to show off what I end up with!

SUNSHINE AND GREASE

If you’ve seen images from the O.H.W.O.W. space in Miami than you must be among the rest of us obsessing over the focal point of the whole space- no, I don’t mean all the incredible art, I’m talking about the shelving on the wall, which serves as the gallery’s shop. The entire building is beyond amazing down to every detail and lucky for us, Style File caught up with Rafael de Cardenas who designed the whole space, outside (the striped black and white building) and in (the shelves, the walls, the floors- they all come together so perfectly) to ask him a couple questions regarding the new Miami spot as well as trying to sneak a few design secrets out of him. You may know Raf as the genius behind Jessica Stam’s apartment as well and I think I know who I’ll be calling if I ever open that shop I dream about. Seriously, his inspiration for the project is one of the best I’ve heard..

Was the inspiration for that design really as simple as, you like black and white?
I did have one outside inspiration lurking in the background. I’m sure you heard of U-boats, the first submarines? Back in World War I, the Germans had them, and no one else did, and because they were sinking everything in sight, they were winning the war. In response, the Brits came up with these “Dazzle Ships”—boats painted, on the underside, in black and white patterns that made it impossible for someone underwater to determine their size or scale.
And that worked?
OK, theoretically impossible. I actually have no idea whether the Dazzle Ships were effective in battle. But I like the idea.

And to sum up his job, I liked this quote the best:

[Referring to where he found Stam's wallpaper] I’ve spent a long time cultivating my sources for stuff like that. I’m not about to divulge one in an interview. I mean, there’s a certain amount of my job that I’m happy to talk about, like its theoretical framework, and then there’s another part of what I do that involves standing in flatbed trucks, looking at antique sofas.

That part is secret.

I’m not sure how I NEVER saw these being the Demeulemeester obsessive that I am but WOW. I have never purchased a pair of stilettos but these I would buy in a heartbeat (thanks to Susie who twittered about something else on Far Fetch which led me to check out their AD selections)……. that is, I would have bought them had they not been sold out already! 40% off too! Such a bummer, seriously.

Fashion-wise there hasn’t been anything I’ve been too crazy about lately. I imagine these Ksubi jeans would be idle for all you lace fanatics though.. they definitely look like something Susie has worn (except layering tights with shorts styles). So many new styles from one of my favorite labels, this is just one I am posting up so far.

Still one of my favorite bands that I can’t go a few days without listening to for hours.

Because I think they rule so fucking hard I thought I’d offer you guys the chance to download a bunch of their songs that Tim from Tiny Vices was nice enough to post up on his site. Get them here . He also shot these epic photos forever ago that still are some of my favs. They were still one of the best live shows I’ve ever been to and had one of the best band logos on earth.

I’ve tried to convince a couple people to go over Lemmy’s apartment and shoot inside it, like full on details and shit and so far Cappello was interested and so was Manute and Selby said he’d also bring me along for it (or send me the prints, I’d rather go as his assistant though). My friend Cass’s old man Jason has the ultimate connection who could probably get any of us in there if we just asked so I’m kinda pressing that to happen. I’ve been only mildly obsessed with seeing inside his apartment from when I saw a few photos of him in it in some mag a while back and when they shot him for the Live Fast Die Old doc. Anyway some dude is selling these tears from a mag that I would buy if they were larger cause $10 is dumb for each one. I may try to work out a deal for them but keep hoping someone I know will shoot his place for real sooner than later.
This other page the dude is selling might be worth the ten bucks..
