incineration
2009 January 28

I’ve been trying to pick out which Demeulemeester bug brooch I liked best from the new stock at Aloha Rag for a few weeks now and then today we’re out and I make quite the find at a thrift store.

I was dying when I spied it the moment we walked in the door.

I was even more ecstatic when we flipped it over and saw the price tag.

So this kind of leaves me set, what with my current feather fixation and jeweled out brooch situation and I think the bugs are safe where they are.

WOZA, how does one wear that? Absolutely fabulous nevertheless!
great find! i love it when that happens. i was actually going to get the crystal one, but decided that i did not need a brooch.
nice! I like your find better.
ooh the demeulemeester pins are insane. SO awesome when stuff like that happens.
Those bugs ARE really cute though :-)
Beetles are my familiar. I love all those brooches; the one you found would look sick in your hair as well!
spider?
SCORE! i love when that happens. gives me hope when i can’t afford anything but f21 right now.

Doesn’t it kinda look like a very elaborate pastie? I would totally wear pasties that looked like that…
WIN!!!
Those bugs are so incredibly sick, but also totally DIY-able. You totally scored with the broach.

damnnnn what a find. anything with the cents sign after is is hard to pass up, but when it’s that fierce and that cheap. . . lucky you. xx
Amazing stuff! And so cheap. I’m jealous.
Too sick for words, I am so envious of your find!
good find. this looks very now. and i second that it would look awesome in your hair.
Right now I put it on a hat I got the other day that we are dying black. I’ll shoot it once we’re done.
Michael Oats: Your photos are seriously amazing.
Louis: That’s funny it does look like it’s a spider with the pieces sticking out huh. Rad.
Woodley: Oh man if this were a pastie that would be INCREDIBLE. I mean the chains hanging off would be a nice touch.
hahah i love how i am the last one to comment on this, but I knew about those spiders!!! this brooch that you’ve picked up is to say the least, epic.
I love it seriously. Even more than those diyable spiders.
