I’ve been trying to pick out which Demeulemeester bug brooch I liked best from the new stock at Aloha Rag for a few weeks now and then today we’re out and I make quite the find at a thrift store.
I was dying when I spied it the moment we walked in the door.
I was even more ecstatic when we flipped it over and saw the price tag.
So this kind of leaves me set, what with my current feather fixation and jeweled out brooch situation and I think the bugs are safe where they are.

Susie has said it before, monkey fur beats all others and I just spied this monkey fur skirt that someone needs to pick up. I’m still hunting down the perfect coat of my own and wouldn’t mind grabbing up this other piece as well. The skirt is alarmingly more than the coat but only by a hundred bucks.. still though, they’re both just so good.

That first pair of trousers are seriously beautiful and while the whole look isn’t something I’d usually wear, I’d definitely take it all head to toe (bag included). The second has the most lux fur ever.. can’t wait to see that in-store. Givenchy never fail with the epic jackets and this one is just so incredible. Dior, anyone who buys this HAS TO WEAR that mask with it. At all times. That is the best part.

I’ll take those McQueen hats in a goddamn heartbeat. You know Daphne is loving these too. The gloves, the cane and boots all work so perfectly with those dresses. Sonia always makes the pretiest garments and this one is no exception. Actually it’s pretty much my fav right now except I’d probably be wearing boots with it. YSL usually never wields too many mind blowing looks for me but I love the details to this dress and all of how it’s styled.
Lastly let me just jump on over to the menswear collections happening right now. I liked these looks from Gucci F/W. My husband would look beyond hot in every one of these and we both like the last shot the best. The thing is though, much of this is already hanging in our closet except it’s all vintage and definitely wasn’t as $$$ as I’m sure this all is.

We dropped in this shop the other day for the first time and all I can remember is the white truffle oil, cupcake carriers and heart cut out for sandwiches before we had to bail from all the crowded isles. While I’ll never need to transport a cupcake and I don’t eat sandwiches, the truffle oil remains my fav but it had to stay put this time. Anyway, I was checking on their web site to see the price of something when we got home and spotted THIS:
Parisian Macaroons? The pretty pretty ones that are the only thing you want to eat besides marrow when you’re in Paris macaroons? Hmmmmmmmm. Of course shipped to you in a box of 24 for the asshole price of $49 is what automatically makes me not even want to buy them for fun (besides that there’s just no way they’re as good as the originals) but I suspect there are others out there who have searched high and low for these to bring on home and now there is an answer in William Sonoma .

Today is a truly sad day. Yeah, you guessed it, 80′s Hardcore are playing their very last show tonight! They’re playing with a couple other hc bands (if you want the names go read the Street Carnage post , you’re really only going to see 80′s HC play anyway.. so…) at the Market Hotel, 1142 Myrtle Ave @ Broadway in Brooklyn at 8PM. If you were never able to catch one of their shows then tonight is your last chance so don’t miss this!
Regarding the song, I haven’t listened to VOID is so fuckin’ long but the Void/Faith split LP was one of my all time favorites when I was younger.

Kind of really digging this black and white look right now. I know I’ve seen other pieces I liked but can’t find them for the life of me. The worst part of this is how obsessed I am with those jeans and how much I wish they weren’t fucking ripped in the knees! It’s well known that I can’t stand purchasing pre-ripped anything but whatthefuck ? My husband suggested I patch them up and I could probably sew them like I do when my own jeans tear (usually the crotch is the first spot to go and I’ve mastered the perfect stitch to fix that issue) but I just know there’s got to be some way to fix this pair. There has to be. Getting them for nearly half of their original price may make them worth picking up also just to see what I can do, right? There’s got to be a way..

My husband and I rival each other with our collections of jeans, jackets and shoes. Whenever we go out we both seem to spy black and leather and the best items in every vintage/thrift/whatever store we are in. I decided to shoot a selection of his boots on our couch to show them off because I sometimes wish I was a size 12 so I could borrow many of them. The total cost outcome for all nine pairs is $44 which is pretty fucking amazing when you get the details.

Picked the first pair up at a rad vintage shop that is only open at night for an hour about once every couple months and it stocked to the ceiling with insanely epic shit. The second we got recently and the lady let us pick anything else in the store to bring home with them. The gold spray painted boots were part of his xmas presents from myself. Awfully proud of the way they came out.

Random thrift find some years ago. The SS boots we are both pretty stoked on.. picture black trousers, white button down tucked in and black skinny suspenders and the pompadour slicked down on the head. The Carolina boots I have seen Ann Demeulemeester do a complete copy of (minus the zipper on the side) and he’s been wearing this style since high school.
