desperate from the weighted crown

I shattered my wrist a few years ago after a mix of a few drinks, my skateboard and having too much fun and every so often I have to wear a bandagey brace because the plate and 9 screws in my tiny wrist reacts to the cold and hot weather badly and makes my arm ache for days. It sucks but the doctor told me it’d pretty much be like this for life so I can’t complain. Anyway, the brace I have is a simple tan color velcro strappy deal but I just saw this photo on Kansas’s blog and it makes me wonder if I should get some craze going with it for when I have to wear it and nothing else. I’m not into jewels or anything like that but maybe tiny black pyramid studs or something? Dying it some other color and stitching it in another? Hmmmm maybe a project to take on this week.

I’m getting a crazy Mad Max vibe off of that and suddenly craving watching the movies again.

Do it. It sounds like it can only turn out good. Love the aesthetics of modifying the perfectly functional.

Ever since my wrist tendonitis got really bad in high school i’ve wanted to make decorated wrist braces!!! I’ve just never gotten my act together to research wholesale medical suppliers. I too have wanted to stud a pair out, or cover a pair in patent leather…sequins…chains…the possibilities are endless.

ouch that sounds painful! pretty sweet idea though, functional yet aesthetically pleasing to the eye. i have to say that the one thing annoying me about this picture is i’m sure she’s wearing the wrist guards the wrong way?

That’s correct! Those are rollerblade wrist guards and they are upside down and painted gold! I used to rock mine without the plastic bit on.

they look like rollerblading wrist guards that she’s wearing upside down. still very cool though.

I broke my wrist skating on 6/6/06! My roommate had broken his BACK that same month so we were both rocking casts at once. I wanted to embroider a snake on mine but I never did (d’oh).

I love this idea…! Could do something with biking gloves too…
